Companies in UK Making Sure They Reduce Pay Gap

Equal pay for men and women is one of the boiling topics in the society worldwide. From entertainment professionals to business leaders, especially women are raising this issue and making government and world to make a note and make changes accordingly.

The government of UK is taking steps to make sure that its citizens get paid equally irrespective of their gender. The government is asking companies to present the pay pattern and scale based on the gender to get the whole picture right.

This data is added in the data base collected by government in order to counter inequality at the workplace. Oil Giant Shell has issued its latest report on pay gap in which says that male staff working for company is getting paid 22% more than women staff.

Shell says that the gap is mainly due to the lack of women workforce available in the technical field and upper level management of the company.
